Launch of “The Peace Bird”
Today, Paddy Walker launched yet another initiative to encourage peace within schools and communities. This is her new book “The Peace Bird” which she has been working on for the last couple of years. Age is no barrier to her creativity. Paddy is still never short of ideas that can help to promote peaceful actions and activities among the people of Rarotonga, the Pacific and the world. Today’s event included the school Peace Ambassadors who each received a copy of the book for their School libraries. It was also attended by the Deputy Prime Minister, Tom Marsters; The Secretary of Education, Sharon Paio; PPSEAWA’s Patroness, Margaret Karika; as well as the book’s artist, Nanette Lela’ulu; its publisher, Brad Walker and Pasifika Education representative Evelyn (sorry I missed her surname). Many thanks to PPSEAWA members and friends of PPSEAWA for their participation and contributions to the day.
